In late October - early November, the VI International Cycle Week oncology was conducted. The organizers were:

1. The World Federation of Surgical Oncology Societies,

2. "Federation of specialists head and neck treatment,

3. First Moscow State Medical University IM Sechenov,

Over the past 25-30 years, the rate of malignant tumors exceeded the annual population growth rate. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment of cancer are the most relevant for today. This aspect has been given the most attention in this cycle. Presentations were made by Russian and international speakers.
So, President WFSOS, professor V. Anikin UK gave a lecture on "Modern approaches to the treatment of metastatic lung tumors" and paid special attention to the topic of early diagnosis in the United Kingdom. In a lecture on "The principles of cryosurgery in oncology" postulates Cryobiology were announced, examples of use in oncology were given.

An interesting overview of the history of St. Petersburg thyroid oncology made Professor A. Romanchishen in his report on "Medullary thyroid cancer. The role of somatostatin analogues in the accompanying therapy".

impressive modern data from clinical trials was presented in the lecture of the director of the official WFSOS school, Professor I. Reshetov "Treatment of metastatic tumors in the bone".

The particular interest of the audience was turned to the reports of Professor Ivan Markovic, representative of the Serbian oncology school.

For example, they were affected by the following:

-       sentinel lymph node biopsy in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma,

-       reconstruction and neurolysis of recurrent nerve - the experience of the National Cancer Research Center of Serbia,

-       a decision on a modified selective lateral dissection using sentinel lymph node biopsy in case of the highly differentiated thyroid cancer.

A new discovery of this year was the performance of the native Montenegrin, professor of the University of Las Palmas (Spain) M. Knežević. The report on "The Evolution of lymph node dissection in the neck in cancer patients," provoked a lot of questions and discussions, both from the audience and the speakers.

Constant friend of school and lecturer, Chief Physician of the Chelyabinsk Regional Clinical Dispensary, Professor, A. Vazhenin presented his lecture "Interstitial brachytherapy in modern oncology."

All members of the school noted that the cycle gave a unique opportunity to make productive interaction and gain more professional knowledge.

One of the main postulates of the previous week Oncology, born in intense discussions, was the conclusion that the development of medicine should be in close cooperation with the West. All members of the school noted that such meetings, in particular, allow the exchange of knowledge and experience, which, in turn, improves the important aspect - the health of patients.

WFSOS President read out a greeting letter on behalf of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Montenegro SN Gritsay to the participants of the International Oncology Week in Montenegro.

At the end of the cycle participants and lecturers were awarded certificates confirming that they had auditioned a series of lectures of leading domestic and foreign oncological specialists.

There is no doubt that the remarkable nature of Montenegro, mostly sunny, despite the late autumn, had an effect on mood and overall friendly atmosphere of the school.

I would like to emphasize the company "Pharm-Sintez", our permanent partner, for the assistance in the conduct and organization of the School.
